Please note before purchase: The 8 x 1-hour consulting sessions must be used within a consecutive 8-week period (1 hour per week) from the date of the first session, or within a 4-week period if using 2 hours per week. Unused sessions cannot be carried over beyond this timeframe and are non-refundable. These one-to-one sessions are conducted online via phone or video call.

Are these one-to-one sessions suitable for beginners to filmmaking?

Absolutely! These sessions are designed to cater to all levels, including beginners. Whether you’re just starting out and want to learn the basics of indie filmmaking, or you’re looking to refine specific skills, the sessions will be tailored to your individual needs and goals. We’ll cover foundational topics and techniques, ensuring you gain the confidence and knowledge to start creating your own films.

What topics do the sessions cover?

The topics covered in these one-to-one sessions will vary based on your specific needs and goals. However, we will explore key aspects of low- to no-budget indie filmmaking, including:

• Pre-Production: Planning, scriptwriting, and creating a feasible film project.
• Casting and Locations: Finding the right talent (including working with non-actors) and scouting suitable locations.
• Equipment and Directing: Making the most of the resources you have and bringing your vision to life on set.
• Editing and Post-Production: Shaping your footage into a polished final product.

In addition to the technical and creative aspects, we can also delve into:

• Distribution: Strategies to get your film seen by audiences.
• Long-Term Goals: Mapping out your journey as a filmmaker.
• Film Festivals: Preparing and submitting your work effectively.
• Organisation and Planning: Essential skills for managing a production, especially with limited resources.
• Mindset: Cultivating the resilience, self-confidence and focus needed for success in indie filmmaking, a topic often overlooked by first-time filmmakers.

Every session is tailored to ensure you get the guidance and support you need to progress on your filmmaking journey.

How will we conduct our one-to-one sessions?

The sessions will be conducted via your preferred method of communication:

• Video Call: Using a platform such as Zoom, Skype, or another agreed-upon service.
• Online Video Call: For those who prefer a flexible online option through a web-based platform.
• Phone Call: A straightforward option for those who prefer audio-only discussions.

We’ll agree on the most convenient method for you prior to the session, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.

What happens if we live in vastly different time zones?

Every effort will be made to schedule the sessions at a time that works best for your local time zone and is convenient for you. However, some flexibility may be required from both parties to accommodate significant time differences. Rest assured, I will do my utmost to find a suitable time that fits your schedule while ensuring the sessions remain productive and effective.

Is there a guarantee or refund policy?

Due to the personalised nature of 1:1 coaching services, payments are non-refundable once the service begins. If you wish to cancel before your first session, you may do so within 7 (seven) days of purchase for a full refund. After this period or once coaching has commenced, no refunds will be issued.

By booking, you agree that the service may begin within 14 days of purchase and acknowledge that once the first session is scheduled or delivered, your right to a full refund is waived, in accordance with consumer protection laws for digital and bespoke services.

What happens once I pay?

After completing your payment you can start scheduling your sessions with me for times/dates that suit us both. The process is simple and streamlined to get you started as quickly as possible.

Are payments safe?

Yes, payments are completely safe. Payments are securely processed via Stripe, a trusted and globally recognised payment platform. Your payment information is encrypted and handled safely—neither we nor any third parties ever see or store your card details.

Will these sessions help me get involved in the film industry?

These sessions are not designed as a gateway into the film industry or as a networking opportunity. Instead, they focus entirely on you, your personal filmmaking journey, and any projects or ideas you wish to develop. The goal is to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to create and complete your own film projects, rather than serving as an introduction to the broader film industry.

What language are the sessions taught in?

The sessions are currently taught in English only.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Consultation Technical Requirements: You are responsible for ensuring that your internet connection, device, and environment are suitable for the one to one consultation.
2. Age Requirement: All participants in consultations must be over 18 years old.
3. Payment: By making a payment, you confirm that it will not cause financial difficulty and that you are legally authorised to do so.
4. Termination: Steve Conway reserves the right to end any one-to-one consultation or communication immediately if deemed inappropriate, which may also result in refusal of future consultations.
5. Marketing: Unless you opt out, your email address may be used for future marketing and promotional purposes related to Steve Conway Films.
6. Language: Consultations are conducted in English only.
7. Session Duration: Each consultation session will last a maximum of 60 minutes, conducted via video or voice call.
8. Scope: Consultations cannot cover every aspect of filmmaking. Participants are encouraged to seek additional resources and training to address areas not covered within consultations.
9. Copyright: Any videos and materials provided by Steve Conway are copyright protected. They may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used in any manner without explicit permission from the copyright owner.
10. Consultation Relevance: One-to-one consultations are limited to relevant topics only; no other agreement exists. Consultations and related emails are private and confidential. Sharing or making these details public is strictly prohibited unless explicitly agreed upon.
11. Advice Disclaimer: Steve Conway offers advice based on his experience with indie filmmaking. He does not provide financial or legal advice and cannot be held accountable for decisions you make in those areas after consultations or advice offered within the course material. Discussions requiring further exploration, such as licences, permits, or legal matters, should be addressed independently.
12.  Intellectual Property: You must be the rightful owner or authorised representative of any intellectual property discussed during consultations. Steve Conway will not request full scripts, treatments, or other detailed intellectual property unless mutually agreed upon through a separate release agreement.
